Wie jede sch\u00f6ne Geschichte begann auch unsere mit einer Begegnung.<\/h2>\n

1995 lernte der aus Berlin stammende Stefan Isabelle auf einer seiner Reisen durch Frankreich kennen. Als sie merkten, dass sie f\u00fcreinander bestimmt waren, beschlossen sie, gemeinsam nach S\u00fcdwestasien zu reisen, um dort nach Kunsthandwerk zu suchen, das sie w\u00e4hrend der Sommersaison in Frankreich auf den M\u00e4rkten verkaufen wollten.<\/p>\n

In Thailand besuchten sie verschiedene M\u00e4rkte, auf denen Kunsthandwerk angeboten wurde, und entdeckten einige sch\u00f6ne Kreationen aus traditioneller Batik, die aus Indonesien stammten.
Sie waren begeistert und reisten noch am selben Tag nach Bali, wo sie einige Wochen lang von Insel zu Insel durch Indonesien reisten. In Zentraljava, einer kleinen Stadt namens Solo, entdeckten sie das Weltzentrum der Batik.<\/p>\n

Indem sie mit Fabriken vor Ort zusammenarbeiteten und Muster aus deren Katalogen bestellten, entdeckten sie nach und nach das Know-how der Batik und sahen das Potenzial, das diese Technik bot. So entstand die Fusion zwischen dem uralten javanischen Batik-Know-how und der westlichen \u00c4sthetik: Sie entwickelten ihre eigenen Muster, die moderner waren und dem westlichen Geschmack entsprachen.<\/p>\n

Ein zweites Treffen<\/h2>\n

Das Schicksal wollte es, dass sie genau in diesem Moment auf Sutarto trafen, einen armen Familienvater, der jedoch sehr talentiert und erfahren im Batikhandwerk war.<\/p>\n

Trotz ihrer kulturellen Unterschiede stimmte die Chemie und \u00fcber eine au\u00dfergew\u00f6hnliche k\u00fcnstlerische Komplizenschaft hinaus entstand eine dauerhafte Freundschaft, die es den beiden Familien erm\u00f6glichte, gemeinsam zu gedeihen und bis heute von ihrer Leidenschaft zu leben.<\/p>\n

Im Jahr 1995 bauten sie ihre eigene Manufaktur in Solo, Zentraljava, auf.<\/p>\n
