Fibonacci, also known as Leonardo of Pisa, was a 13th-century Italian mathematician famous for introducing Arabic numerals and the decimal numbering system to Europe. His best-known work, “Liber Abaci”, helped popularize the use of Indo-Arabic numerals in Europe and introduced the Fibonacci sequence, a series of numbers where each number is the sum of the previous two, which finds numerous applications in various fields, including mathematics, biology and finance.
