Mens Sarong
The sarong is the simplest summer garment in the world: one large rectangle of cloth, knotted at the waist, and nothing else. Men have worn it for centuries in Java, Bali and across the Pacific, and it is coming back to European beaches for an obvious reason — it is more comfortable than shorts, it dries in ten minutes, and it folds into a pocket.
Our men’s sarongs are batiks hand-painted in Java, using a craft technique passed down through generations. No digital printing: the wax is applied with a canting, dye after dye, which gives every piece variations no machine can reproduce. No two are alike.
Patterns chosen for men
Dragons, geckos, Maori turtles, tribal masks, beetles, totems, primitive graphics and geometric compositions: we selected the boldest motifs in our collection, in deep dominant tones — black, indigo, earth, khaki, ochre. Nothing floral, nothing pastel.
How to wear it
At the waist, the simple knot is enough: the cloth passes behind the back, the two corners cross in front and tie once. To keep it in place without thinking about it, our Coco Buckle replaces the knot and removes the risk of everything coming undone as you leave the water. Some wear it long, to the ankle, Indonesian style; others fold it to mid-thigh, like beach shorts.
Beyond the beach it makes an excellent indoor garment in summer, a sauna wrap, and a travel companion that doubles as a towel, a light sheet or an improvised curtain.
The fabric
Premium viscose, woven denser than the usual tourist pareo. The drape is fluid, the cloth stays soft wash after wash, and the colours hold. Generous dimensions, suited to every build.
